Gems, gems, Jem!

Okay, so Dragon sends me a tell in game about my Haste gems (awhile back). He's curious on why so many. So I wanted to discuss this a bit for some opinions. Here's my gems and such:

On another server, someone suggested that the Haste gems be used. I'm doing about 6-7k in a raid I think, average.
So, will I see a big upgrade if I re-gem? Joey usually tells me what to spec/gem/rotate and I know he dabbled with rawr a bit. I'll let him add his thoughts.

I find this topic outrageous.  Truly, truly, TRULY outrageous!

When I'm number crunching in Rawr, I'm looking at the dps number rawr provides for each piece of gear to determine how much of a difference in dps the gem change will make.  What I'm unsure of is whether or not there are any multipliers or anything I should take into account when deciding whether or not the change is worth it.  When I account for each gem change it suggests, it just doesn't seem to be a big enough difference to spend the gold on changing that many gems.

The total increase for changing the gems that rawr suggests to maximize the dps would be 61.1.  Like I said, that just doesn't seem worth it.  She would have to change out 12 gems to do this, which is, roughly, 1,200 gold or so.  For example:

Head piece:
Currently      -> 20 Haste gem - 1299.76
Suggestion   ->  12 Spell Power/10 Haste gem - 1303.66
Difference of 3.9

Unless I'm not taking something into account, it just doesn't seem worth it to make the change.  Of course, any new gear she acquires will most likely have the 12sp/10 haste gems from here on out.
