I made a druid. He's level 17. In 17 days I have no classes until semester, and my gf is abroad. Since I have no life, I will play WoW and level him up.

I want to bear tank. Teach me.

Pull Big Mob.

Swipe.

Repeat.

While I'm fairly certain there are other possible nuances, that's about the gist of it from my limited experience XD

Single target - mash mangle, maul, and lacerate

Multiple targets - mash mangle, maul, and swipe

Roar when needed.  Zoom out so your screen isn't full of bear ass.

AJ summed it up nicely. Bear tanking takes no skill whatsoever. It takes gear.

Is there any point in shifting out of Bear form before pulls to apply hots/thorns/pull with moonfire etc.? I'm mainly talking about 5mans here.

I guess it helps if your healer is mildly retarded.

No. Stay in bear. Hit things. Dance if it pleases you.

Actually I think the whole regrowth, moonfire thing started in BC when aoe aggro was a very hard thing for bear tanks who weren't like Uber uber good at that class. It was to increase mob aggro on themselves. It wasn't moonfire pulling it was hurricane pulling to hit all the mobs.. then BOOM bear form got a nice good lead on mob threat and TADAA!!! Regrowth wasn't a healer issue either.. I have seen many do that to get initial aggro even now i'm guessing it's once they got in the habit it was kinda hard to break.. like you know FACEROLLING is for a pally Cheesy

Neb.. I luv ya  Wub BUT i highly doubt i'd ever run with ya tanking lol

I only did it when i had a shitty healer. Back in BC heroics i could keep myself healed with my own hots for a while. And the whole moonfire pulling thing was because taunt didnt have range.

No.  Moonfire is good for pulling because it's an instant with no travel time, so you can time tricky pulls perfectly.  If you're really worried about group aggro, you can go with regrowth since it's a longer HoT than rejuvenation.

Hurricane pulling is decent too.  But it screws up any CC that you might have done.  Alternatively, you can moonfire the non main target and then focus on the main target whill still getting a bit of aggro on the original.  Not as useful now with all the other bear tools, but if you're really pushing it, it can help.

Actually, feral fairyfire is a much better ranged pull and is second in your single target tanking rotation behind mangle (and refreshing lacerate if you are doing that).
